In order to encourage science research scholars across India, The Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, has announced a Fellowship Hike of about 50% in the amount of various categories of young researches such as Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) and Research Associate (RA). The revised fellowship amount will be as follows (previous rates in brackets)

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)               : Rs. 25,000.00/- + 30%HRA* (Rs. 16.000/-)

Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)               : Rs. 28,000.00/- + 30%HRA* (Rs. 18,000/-)




Research Associate Category I (RA-I)         : Rs. 36,000.00/- + 30%HRA* (Rs. 22,000/-)

Research Associate Category II (RA-II)      : Rs. 38,000.00/- + 30%HRA* (Rs. (23,000/-)

Research Associate Category III (RA-III)    : Rs. 40,000.00/- + 30%HRA* (Rs 24,000/-)

The revised rate will take effect from 01/10/2014.

* Percentage of HRA varies with the norms of host institutions
